Hello,
You need to change your file/directory permission (chmod) to 644/755 respectively and that should resolve the problem.

All the dirertories/files were 0705 and i turned them to 0755 and it doesnt work.
I return to 0.9.6.2.
Hello,
You changed the files to 644 and the folders to 755? If that’s not working check with your hosting company regarding what permission setting they recommend. If the error message has changed please post the new error message.

A much easier way around this is to simply extract the files to your local system and (s)ftp upload them. Your hosts umask on their ftp server should set the permissions for you. If this is the technique you used, then check the amount of memory available to your php scripts. I have read where as much 32megs has been suggested. If my memory serves. I am using 64 megs, but then again I run my own webservers.

I have 32 megs for php.
For extracting the file, i do it the classical way : download modx2 archive from repository, untar it on my desktop and then upload all into the www/ directory with ftp and filezilla.
I will contact the support of ovh if i cant find it soon. thanks for help

I just installed alpha-6 on my server and it seemed to be taking a while, so I glanced at the top output, and noticed after the install had completed almost 100MB extra RAM had been required.
It installed perfectly happily... just pointing out that you may need more than 32MB. My PHP limit is 256MB, the server has 1GB of RAM and 2GB swap.
