I’ve upgraded all the way from Etomite 0.6 with MODx extensions with no trouble at all. Just keep a backup copy of any files you add to the Assets folder, such as assets/images, assets/templates, assets/modules, etc., since depending on your host’s system existing files may or may not be preserved; but even if they aren’t all you have to do is re-upload your files after you’ve uploaded the new MODx files. Everything in the database - documents, snippets, templates, chunks, users, groups etc is not affected.
