Is there an attribute available for use in a schema’s object tag for setting the default charset/collation of a table? I’d like mine to be utf8/utf8_general_ci. Thx!

I think xPDO will use the default character set of the database (I could be wrong). Using another character set could cause problems.
If you want to change the whole database to be UTF-8 (not a bad idea), see this:
http://bobsguides.com/convert-db-utf8.html
Run MODX Setup again after converting.
Thanks, Bob. I usually set that during the initial install but must have glazed right over it.

Someday MySQL will use UTF-8 by default. I hope I live long enough to see it.

smg6511, is this for xPDO development? Are you trying to getg xPDO to create the database tables with that character set for you?
@Bob: Yeah, it seems silly that they hadn’t changed the default long ago, given its worldwide use. I realize it was originally dev’d in Sweden, but c’mon
@netProphET: Yes and I’d be curious to know if it’s possible ... although if Bob’s supposition is correct (that new tables are created with whatever default set the database was created with), it would likely never be necessary.
