    Hi,

I want to start creating a Evolution module that works with xpdo.
Can someone point me in the right direction or provide a link to a tutorial?

    Thank you

I’m pretty sure xPDO doesn’t have anything to do with Evolution. Why not just work in Revolution? Revo runs on xPDO, while Evo is the original core code. Not that I would know, but it seems VERY unnecessarily complex to do such a thing.

I currently can’t use Revo on the project so my plan is to use xPDO as a way to improve my Revo skills.
It’s probably as simple as uploading xPDO on the server and use it from the Evo module.

I was just wondering if someone has done it and wrote something about it. If not, it’s probably not that hard to do smiley
I just want some reading material to put me on the right track

Yes, that’s it. But you’ll have to reverse-engineer the DB schema from the database tables. This should get you started:

              Thanks,
Currently some of tables do not exist but at some point I will need to "hook" into the current modx tables(users table mostly).
Any ideas on using MVC for Evo modules. Until now I created my own MVC system similar to what was done for Doc Manager.

The classes generated by xPDO will become part of your model. If it’s simple enough, they could represent your entire model. xPDO gives you an instant CRUD API but you can go further and add new or override xPDO’s methods as it suits you.
Then I’d just recommend using whatever View and Controller techniques that are familiar to you. DocManager is a good example of making sure the controllers are accessed via the Manager’s front controller to give you the built in authentication and other common security checks according to your site’s configuration.
