getCollectionGraph: populate null values?

When using getCollectionGraph, is it possible to populate null values as empty strings? I have some formatting logic that expects attributes to be set in order to format a record correctly. Is there a way to make getCollectionGraph populate the empty attributes?

This has nothing to do with getCollectionGraph — xPDOObjects set their attributes with a PHP null value if the field is nullable and that’s what the value is in the database. I’m not really clear on what you are asking here though. Do you have an example?
