Template Variable: Restrict by access group

I have a template variable that I have given access to Resource Group 1. I have one document in Resource Group 1. Is there a way to restrict the template variable so it only shows when you are on a document with Resource group 1. The only way I can get it to show is based off template, and when there, it shows on all templates, ignoring the resource group.

Version: MODX Revolution 2.1.3-pl (traditional)
