Here is an idea:
What if I created a role say subsite_creator and then wrote a plugin to say if user has the role of subsite_creator find their username as a folder and make that the start of the document tree.
If this is a good idea how would I go about doing it?

What if you could create a "folder" with a given docgroup, and all docs put in that "folder" had the same group automatically? There could be a plugin to do that, I think. That could be quite useful.
