what does question mark in TV mean ?

I just tried using drag&drop in modx resource panel. I draged one of my TV inside template but the rendered snipet had a question mark in it

[[*tvname?]]

What is that question mark for ?

In Revo, all tags can take parameters. The parameter list takes a form similar to that of HTML query string; the tagname must be followed immediately (no spaces) by a ?, then each parameter takes the form of &name=`value` (note that those are back-ticks `` and not single-quotes ’’). So all that auto-generated ? is doing is setting up for possible parameters. If there aren’t any, it doesn’t hurt anything.
