    Hi there!
I just started using Modx a few days ago and am doing my first project with it. I am trying to get a few add-ons and it doesn’t seem to work. I followed the tutorial in the docs but when I click "Download Extras", it just returns an empty table and says "No Provider Selected". So I tried to explicitly set the provider... no dice.

So, I downloaded a few from the site directly and added them to the proper directory. on some of them work when I go to "Add New Package". I got Wayfinder and codeMirror to work, but countless others didn’t. This install is on my local machine using xampp. could that be the problem? undecided

Using Revo, downloaded a few days ago. Traditional, vista 32-bit, php5, latest mysql, pdo installed, on chrome 3(I believe)

You need cURL activated for your PHP configuration.

I thought it was but then I looked in my phpinfo() and searched for cURL but didn’t find it. How do I activate it?

And why would some plugins work when I manually place them in the core > packages dir and most not?

It seems to be a problem with your server. Have you tried other? Package Manager works fine, and i’m sure your problem is server related. Read the MODx requisites and be sure everything on your server is configured properly.

I don’t think that is related to the problem here. It is more likely related to the cURL configuration or possibly other server configuration details. The 5.0.51 server version has some bugs that can affect MODx negatively, but the client 5.0.51 version is not necessarily a problem.

So because I am on a shared host, which I have no access to php.ini, it’s undebuggable?
