what kind of data do you have that you need them as modx-resources?
Mostly its better to store them in own ’custom-tables’ and create CMPs to manage them.

My site is about stadiums in the world)
I want to make catalog of them and give opportunities to users to edit pages - upload photos, edit descriptions and users will be able to comment stadium.

I think Revo’s caching mechanism means that you can have virtually unlimited amount of resources.
I must admit tho.
I haven’t tried importing 40k resources yet, nor am I sure if it is practical to have 40k resources in a document tree...

If you have 40,000 of anything, you need a custom table of data, one Resource, and a snippet to render the data. Oh, and maybe a CMP to manage that data from the backend. Or you can add another Resource/Snippet to allow user editing from the front-end instead of the manager.
