Can constraints be set based on the value of a TV?

Is it likely that tab rank will be settable on the tab tab in addition to (or instead of) the TV tab?

Is it likely that it will be possible to move fields to other tabs in addition to TVs?

Most FC requests require major rewrites to how FC is done; TBH, the fields need to be generated by PHP - not by JS hacks, as is done now.

I’ve been planning some ideas of how to do that (mainly through what i’m calling "schemes", which are basically snapshots of what the user wants a Resource Edit page to look like), but it wont be developed in time for 2.1. I’m shooting for 2.2, but there’s a lot on my plate, so to speak.

Thanks. Don’t hurry on my account. I’ve done enough rewriting as it is. I just rewrote the entire Form Customization section of the book from scratch. Now for the FormIt section.

I notice that I don’t seem to have any control over the Tab Rank. If it’s 0, my changes don’t stick and for a tab I created myself, it’s set to 10. If I change it to 6, it gets saved as 16. I assumed that it would set the order of the tabs. Am I misunderstanding what this does?

I think that the ability to assign certain tv's to resources with form customization would be an immense help…in 2.2.2 still not working:/

Well, it still doesn't work as expected on 2.2.4.

I created a rule based on "id" to only show the TVs I wanted on the resource with that ID. It does in fact hide the unwanted TVs - on all resources! Adding another rule to hide unwanted TVs and show wanted ones on a resource with a different ID just ends up hiding all of the TVs on all resources, sort of a cumulative effect.

Showing/hiding regular resource fields such as "longtitle" does work as expected. [ed. note: sottwell last edited this post 14 years, 3 months ago.]
