file upload in frontend

Hy, i want to make a form with some fileds and a file upload field. Is there any snippet or other cool modx things wwho can do this with validation (file type, file size?). Or schould i do a normal php file upload with move_file?

I use Modx Revolution 2.0.7.

Antoher question after fileupload, do i need to create thumbs of my pics if i want some or can i use phpthumb? I read from phpthumb in web but can not found info in official modx revolution docu.

i havent seen something for a upload yet, but you can write your own handy snippet with normal PHP and move_uploaded_file. But for the thumbs you can use phpthumb, it works fine.

What do i need to do to get thumb from php thumb for my image? Is the a doc fpor it? Does it only cache the thumbs or save it do disk?

Caching means saving on disk. You can put something like <img src="[[+placeholderWithImgPath:phpthumbof=`w=100&h=100`]]" /> in a chunk, but actually i don’t know if there’s a doc for it right now.
