Changes not being saved in Revolution 2.0.4

Hello every one I just installed MODx Revolution 2.0.4 but Im trying to create a new template and nothing is being saved, I though it was a layers problem because I was using IE8, so I switch to firefox but I still can not save a new template or changes to the defualt template?

Ok here is the information you requested,
Modx verion Revolution 2.0.4-pl2, traditional, Linux web8.gohsphere.com 2.6.18-194.11.4. PHP5, mysql 5.0.45 tied it with IE 8.06 and Firefox 3.0.19 no errors on firefox it the saving loading animation comes up but nothing gets saved, with IE I get a lot of JS errors but the saving window comes up but again noting gets saved. hope this helps.

Let me know if this is a common thing or if there is a way to fix it, otherwise I will just go back to Evolution that has been working great on my other sites. Thanks for the help.

- Any errors in core/cache/logs/error.log?
- Any errors in your apache error log?
- Any custom plugins you are running in MODx, such as RTEs?
- Any custom plugins on your browser?
- Any opcode caching such as eAccelerator, xCache, etc?

I just checked I do have some errors on Any errors in core/cache/logs/error.log?
no plug ins yet.. although is strange to have all this errors on the error.logs and the installation processed said it had installed successfully.

doing a little more testing I just discover that it wont save any template information, but if I edit the content on the default template that does get saved? so now I’m even more lost >:( I guess I should of just stayed to what I was used to using lol

Ok I was investigating this and found out why my template was not being saved, which doesnt make much sence to me, I was able to save the template after I took the

out of my template, then the template saved normally? I still dont get why the doctype and meta tag would interfere with the saving of the template and if so why wouldn’t it give me some sort of error message.

This is mod_security rules blocking the content of your POST because it thinks what is being posted is some kind of hack. Google for modx mod_security and you’ll find plenty of information on what you can do to resolve it.
