TinyMCE is adding BR tags to my content after I switch from ’fullscreen’ mode back to normal view.
To illustrate:
- Add content to document in normal view of TinyMCE
- click ’fullscreen’ button in TinyMCE -> content appears to contain added BR’s but when I click the ’html’ button in TinyMCE the html does NOT contain the extra BR’s... it only appears this way.
- click the ’fullscreen’ button once more to return to normal view of modx resource editor -> click ’html’ button in TinyMCE and walla, the BR’s are now there in the code.
What I’m doing to try to fix it:
- set cleanup to disabled / false in TinyMCE settings (didn’t work)
- set ’cleanup’ => false, in tinymce.class.php located in core/components/tinymce/ (didn’t work)
- added ’valid_elements’ => ’* [ * ]’(minus the extra white spaces for correct display in forum) in tinymce.class.php *suggested from this post (didn’t work)
Now, I would just disable the fullscreen button but I have another issue with the right-click menu being positioned at the top of the Tinymce container window, rather than on the mouse cursor. However, when I’m in fullscreen mode the right-click menu displays correctly. I’ve disabled my css files and it is not my custom css that is cause this other problem with the right-click menu always displaying at the top of the rich text area. So, I have a dilemma, one, my client will have to get used to the right-click menu being in a non-intuitive location (top of the rte window) or my client will have to learn how to delete a bunch of extra BR tags every time they switch back from fullscreen mode.
Any ideas, any help... both are very much appreciated.
