Modx does not view the Navigation Menu

Hello everybody,

You see whats missing here? yes the navigation menu.
I have trouble loading the Modx manager after logging in, this trouble is a result of errors that occur inconsistently.
I’m using the MODx Revolution 2.0.8-pl (traditional) version, and i get diffirent results in multiple browsers.
This modx site was installed fresh on the server, and the server does meet the requirements to run Modx.
On a mac laptop the errors never occur, tough the errors occur on multiple Windows 7 Laptop.
We also ran win xp virtual on a mac laptop, the error did not occur.

Im using firefox 4.0, chrome, internet explorer 9
Keep in mind that the errors occur inconsistently on a windows machine and never occur on a mac machine.
So i guess there is something wrong with the client side(loading ajax?).

I also found today that the bug does not occur using modx in firefox on a ubuntu 32bit system.

Just did a clean installation of Revo 2.1.1-traditional after using Evo for a while. I got exactly the same problem... I am running Win7 + IE9/Chrome.
The remark about Mac not having this problem made me try it on a VM with Ubuntu + Firefox: same problem...

Any ideas? Somebody?

What happens if you clear cookies, reset permissions and reset sessions?

Tried all that, no difference

I tried a new installation of Evo 1.0.5 instead, but it won’t install either. (http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,65246.0.html)

Don’t know what to do anymore...

Now these errors can occur on a mac machine?
I havent found a solution yet.
Every time i want to work on that site i have to restart my pc and boot into linux :S

What does the new version of Revo do? Same problem or is it solved?

Im not sure what the newest version of Revo will do, however do i know that other modx sites with the same version do not give the same problems. I encountered these problems on at least 2 modx sites so far.

I have been seeing this same issue across several of my MODx Revolution sites. It seems to happen randomly: sometimes it only affects one browser/OS, other times all of them. For v2.0.x and v2.1.x as well.

Sometimes clearing the browser cache + manually deleting the contents of core/cache seems to help, but sometimes not even that works. It’s REALLY frustrating when I need to make a change to a client’s website asap. I haven’t had time to research the exact cause in more depth, but its randomness and generated error messages suggest that an Ext dependency is being lazy-loaded too slowly or something that depends on it isn’t waiting until it actually gets loaded before trying to use it.

In any event, this begs a more important question: Why is the manager so JS-dependent?
