I was going to post this in Jira... but this is literally my first install of Revo... so as a newbie I want to make sure this is not expected behaviour.
One of the first things I do upon a new MODx Evo install is to turn on friendly URLs and make their extensions "/" to keep them clean.
I’ve achieved this the recommended way by setting the Content Type of HTML with file extension "/" (I also created a new Content Type with the same result).
When the extension was ".html", a relative image URL inserted by TinyMCE (/assets/images/photo.jpg) resolved correctly (i.e. sitename.com/assets/images/photo.jpg).
When setting the extension to "/" the image link breaks to sitename.com/page-alias-name/assets/images/photo.jpg
Is this meant to happen? Even when I delete the image on a page and then re-insert it, the same thing happens. If I try to make this an absolute path, the editor converts it back to absolute. The only way I’ve been able to "fix" it is by toggling the editor and change the HTML to an absolute image path.
I’ve also noticed that when changing the HTML file extension to "/" I"ve had to go back to each page to set the Content Type as something else and then back to HTML (and then save) to make sure it takes on the new "/" extension.
I’m quite happy to file a bug report if these issues are in fact bugs and not me missing something (like possibly not configuring my .htaccess file correctly, which is currently the default one that comes with the Revo install [yes, I did change the file name from ht.access])
