unable to log this as a bug due to not being able to register, likewise i couldn’t download from the modx site last night, this new look seems to have problems.
Ok after spending days and days installing and uninstalling i have found a problem that is a major issues. i have been using Rev 2.0, 2.01, 2.02 and 2.03 with NO install issues, i went to install modx for a new site using 2.08 nothing but problems permissions all wrong, when trying to login it just takes you back to the login screen, once i did get logged in and the left tree was missing..
I have already found the pages where others have come accross this, and i tried all the resolutions and none of them worked,
Before someone says use the standard and not advanced i have been using the advanced for many installs and no problems, anyway
I have been back and forth with my hosting company just to make sure that nothing has changed, they confirmed that folders should be 755 and files 644. on 2.08 all the folders ar 744 and files 666 not a problem i can chmod them to 755 and 644. ok i can now install it and get to the log in screen. try to login but loop back to the login screen, (front end is blank as it should be on a fresh install of modx)
so i thought i know iwill install 2.03 as i know its fine on the others... yep as i thought installed logged in and content on the front page in less than 2 mins, NO permissions to change no errors, checked the files and they are set (default) to Folders 755 and files 644
uninstalled it and installed 2.1 rc3 bang nothing checked the permissions and the folders are set to 744 and files 666..
Can the modx team change the files back to how they were, or tell me what i need to change... i chmod the folders to 755 and files to 644 and then run the install and get to the login screen, but soon as i try and login it just loops back to the login screen..
any ideas,,, this is frustrating..

on 2.08 i had a pdo install error (i dont have the exact message as i have reinstalled), i ran the test script and all was ok on 2.1rc3 there are no errors in the cache
