Is there a way for modx 2.0.8 to auto generate an alias for friendly urls based on page title. Using modx-2.0.8-pl and getting strange friendly url output. I set up the friendly urls .htaccess using
http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Using+Friendly+URLs but links are auto appending an id (/modx-2.0.8-pl/1/4.html). My site is in a folder called modx-2.0.8-pl and lets say the site is www.mywebsite.com for htaccess purposes below.
My resource tree is simple parent/child
Section 1
> Section 1a //amended
> Section 1b eg onclick output /modx-2.0.8-pl/1/4.html
..
Section 2
> Section 2a
> Section 2b
..
I use wayfinder and no manual aliases are set. In system settings they are set to auto generate as per guide above. I also have <base href="[[!++site_url]]" /> in the template head.
Basically the links (as above) generate the id and not a page title variant. I only use one template to which all sections are applied and published.
Also in this version friendly_url_ prefix and friendly_url_ suffix are missing so i cant take .html off the friendly urls that do work - I need /hello not /hello.html
Whats the most stable release of Modx Revolution in your experience 2.0.8/7/6/5/4/3..because I also have plugin problems... getting eg PHPTHUMBOF working in a subfolder. I also have issues with Tiny MCE (when u create a link it drops eg
http://wwww.google.com and replaces it with ../../undefined and if u paste in content the save button remains inactive - I submitted the bug btw.)
I have also cleared system cache and browser cache multiple times and tested IE, FF, and Chrome.
