I have a set of TVs in the category "Site Info" that I have been granting access to based on a higher-level role within a given user group. My main roles within each user group are
- Site Editor - can edit resources but does not have access to "Site Info" TVs
- Site Manager - all perms of Site Editor plus can view/edit Site Info TVs
This was working well in prior versions - and I’m not sure which version it stopped working in - but in 2.0.8, users with the Site Editor role can no longer save resources. I’ve determined that in 2.0.8 (and again, I’m not sure how far back this goes), the user must have at least ’load’ permission on the ’Site Info’ category in order to save resources that use a template that has ’Site Info’ TVs in it.
Problem is, granting ’load’ access also allows the user to view & edit those TV fields in the resource form. That’s exactly what I was trying to avoid by this permissions schema.
This leaves me with FC as an option... but FC rules can only be applied to a user group, not a role within a user group. So am I out of luck? Is there a way to do what I’m trying to do?
