Upload MP3 not working??

Hi All.

I’m pretty new to MODX. I do really like it and I have found it to be much easier than other CMS systems. Nonetheless, I am having an issue with trying to upload an MP3 using the file manager. I try to add it using the upload files dialog box and it seems to upload okay - but it does not show up in the files. This does not happen with any of the images I’ve uploaded through the file manager - they appear right away.

It’s not much of an issue for me as I can just FTP into the server and upload from there - but I am thinking this will be an issue when I hand over the site to my client as they will be doing all their upload through Modx. Any insight on what might be the issue? Please let me know if any of you have some possible solutions. Thanks.

try to rename your file into yourfile.MP3 - that worked for me.
You can choose whatever filename you want, "yourfile" is just an example, but it’s important to write the ending in caps.
I’m not sure, but I guess this has something to do with the system settings for files.

Need to look at upload_maxsize: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/upload_maxsize

Also make sure your in php.ini that both upload_max_filesize and post_max_size are larger then the MODX upload_maxsize. Look in Reports->System Info and click on phpinfo() to see php info.

Figured it out with your help -seems it was a combination of issues.

After increased my upload and post max size on my server, the upload dialogue on Modx said the files I was uploading was larger than the upload max file size set in the system settings. I was not getting this error originally So I increased it there too and all worked.
