Help : Blank White Startpage and Manager

Hi everyone,

I’m encountering a problem under modx 2.0.8 pl that just killed my work day. The manager page and the start page are just blank.

I actually began to have this bug yesterday, and after reading some resolved issues, I cleared the cache and reinstalled modx. It worked well the two first times ( yes, it happened very soon ) but then since 3 hours ago I really have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Even the installation programm turns to a blank page (setup/index.php?action=install).

The strangest is that it appeared all of a sudden, as I was working on a HTML page. I’m beginning to work under modx and did not wrote unpublished articles ( I read that it could make some troubles ). I’m not that aware about which DB record I have to look at, I’ll wait for your advices if I have to look further that way.

I’m running Modx 2.0.8 pl under MySQL 5.0.51a, PHP 5.2.6 and Apache 2.2.17 on a Ubuntu 5.1 server.
I tried to lauch the website under Windows and Ubuntu in Firefox, Chrome and IE8 with no success.
As it worked before, the pdo is working.

Again, I was just beginning to work under modx to learn it, so I may have done or missed something really stupid.
Your help would be welcome.

PS: I am non native english speaker, sry.

mysql 5.0.51a could be the problem. Update at least the PDO_driver to avoid problems.

And be sure to clear cache manually (empty core/cache directory).

I can suggest a workaround that will probably work and you won’t have to keep reinstalling MODx.

Erase all of the files and folders under the core/cache directory.

Upgrading to 2.1 should help prevent this from happening again.

5.0.51 is notoriously bug-ridden, though, and you should definitely try to have it upgraded.
