Blank / null entry on Resource List TV input

Is there a way to allow selecting a blank/null entry for a Resource List tv?

I posted this same question last week.

I haven’t solved this yet, but as a workaround, I created an empty unpublished document in the folder that my Resource List TV uses as a parent. I can use this as my "blank" option.

Hopefully someone else has a better solution.

You could modify (or better duplicate with a new name and then modify) /core/model/modx/processors/element/tv/renders/mgr/input/resourcelist.php:

Find (line 42):


and add after that:



Perhaps it is better to take ’’ (empty) as value, depends on what you want to achieve and what you are more comfortable to request in your template.
