Viewing files in file tree

I have a context policy that I want to be able to view/edit/add/modify files in the file tree. But right now I can just see the file tree & the ’Files’ root folder, but nothing under it.

I have these permissions checked.

• directory_list
• file_list
• file_manager
• file_remove
• file_tree
• file_update
• file_upload
• file_view

Is there something I’m missing?

I figured it out. I needed a ’web’ context policy in order to see the files. Not sure why - but there you have it.

Like a lot of permissions-related Revo gubbins, that makes no sense at all. But I too can confirm it works - but that means that all the restricted users in my other contexts also have access to the web context (which by default gives access to the core files). This seems a very odd state of affairs.

Not sure what you did James, but I duplicated the Content Editor Policy and added in a bunch of settings (basically anything with file in the key plus other publishing rights) and made my users members of a group with Context Content Editor policy, Member-9999 for web, mgr and context. Is that what you did?

I essentially did the same... copied the content editor policy, added file_* and directory_*... but I didn’t have a web context policy, so no number of permissions added fixed the problem. I even granted Administrator policy to those users (on the mgr context) and when that didn’t work, I finally figured out it was web context. Never would have guessed it.

AFAIK, file access in the Manager shouldn’t have anything to do with the ’web’ context. Could you file that as a bug so it will get official attention?
