    Hi all

    I think I need a little help...

I have installed ModX Rev 2.0.3 on a server. Whilst in development I used an ip to create the site because the new site owner already had a static site and they didn’t want it transferred until ready. So I have been using the address; http://***.***.***.*/~sitename/manager to log in. This worked fine but now I have re-directed the URL for launch and go to sitename/manager and it will not let me log in!

Please tell me if I am missing something obvious. I have cleared the cache (because I can still log in fine using the IP) and also tried Chrome, FF and IE.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

OK, I sent a reset password to myself and the URL for reset came back with ~sitename in the address. So I figured to try sitename.com/~sitename/manager and was able to log in fine again. Are there any settings I can change to get rid of the /~sitename/ bit as that is what seems to be causing the problem. BTW, have cleared cache a couple of times now.

Well, fixed it. If anyone else has this problem the answer is to go to core/config.inc.php and look for any instances of /~sitename and delete them. Save the config file and it all works. That was a frustrating evening getting nothing at all accomplished...

I think an upgrade Setup after the sitename resolved would have solved it. You might want to do one anyway to straighten out any other errant paths.
