I have just installed the latest download of MOdx 2.08.and done a fresh install. I noticed that unlike Evolution it is not possible to install a sample site to get all the most commonly used bits installed so tried installing Clarity Pack using the package management which I understand will install a sample site.
I can find this package with no problem and when i click the download button the button greys out however nothing else happens after this, can anyone tell me how I know its downloaded, as I understand it once its downloaded an install button should appear is this correct or am i missing something.

There is a sample site package available through Package Manager (unless something’s happened to it). I’m not sure which snippets come along with it.
When you click on the download button in Package Manager, you have to wait until the button changes to "dowloaded," then click on the "finish" button. You should then see the package in the PM grid with an "install" button next to it.

I can see the packages fine i can click the download which then remains grayed out have left it for half an hour and it stays that way then if I click the finish button I just end up with an empty PM box.
It may well be the ModSecurity on my server blocking the download to the server at a guess. Thats caused me lots of issues with the evo version.
Its a shame there is not the option to have the sample site installed along with a number of essential snippets like ditto wayfinder etc.
maybe my fix is to go back to the evo version

OK i have it working now, I spoke to the server people and they adjusted modsecurity
They said basically this
the rule that I have just disabled is one that I really don’t want to left your site without
it is because all the attacks are because the hackers tries to send a domain to another URL that starts with HTTP://
Guess its great to have a secure server and I understand that but its damn hard work when I am not a developer but just knock up sites for friends trying to find out whats going on.
Anyway all sorted now
