To get rid of the mark, after you have a grid ExtJS object:

grid.getStore().commitChanges();

Always used combo-boolean editor xtype for that case.

            header: _('bcontrol.active')
            ,dataIndex: 'active'
            ,sortable: true
            ,width: 20
            ,editor: { xtype: 'combo-boolean' ,renderer: 'boolean' }
        },{

Same effect, easy to accomplish!
