Manager requesting images from template / error log: modmanagerresponse class

I’m running the Notify404 plugin on my site, which means I get emails of every 404 error being served (by MODX) on my site. Every now and then, when I’m working in the manager I also get a few like these:

Action 19 resolves to the edit template screen, and id 3 is the ID of my current layout. siteurl/assets/images/menu/modx.png is an image I use in my menu and appears as an img tag in my template.

What I don’t get is why it would be requesting my images, when I’m looking at the code...? It also seems to be inconsistent. Sometimes it gives out the 404’s for all 4 images directly referenced in my template - if I then refresh the screen it doesn’t. Also when I browse the manager while keeping Firebug open to check the requests I can’t find the request again.


This is Revo 2.0.7 traditional. I have the feeling it’s related to CodeMirror (1.1.0-pl)... but like I said - I can’t replicate it when I want to, so I can’t think of a way to confirm that. Other plugins that are running are VersionX, TinyMCE, Redirector, Notify404, ArchivistFurl and QuipResourceCleaner.

I never have any issues viewing the template code though, so if a request would fail I expect I would notice that by getting an empty textarea?

That looks like safe_mode in action.

To me it looks like the Ext function to load the template information is being added to the filename that is being checked for existence..

Got this on Firefox 3.6, Windows 7.

Does FireBug show any js errors?

It’s so random.. I’ve not yet witnessed it happening (that would’ve made debugging way easier), but always get an email a few minutes after I’ve been editing my template... When I try again (with firebug open this time) I can’t seem to replicate it.

Did you get to the bottom of this? Im seeing similar errors myself.
