    Hello!

I have been using Evolution for some years now, and I liked it very much that all assets uploaded by users are uploaded to assets/images or assets/files.

Now I have my first websites with Revolution 2.0.7 and I can’t figure out how to set the assets directory correctly. I have found some threads here, but all hints could not help me at all.

Additionally I am completely confused about the various system settings [tt]filemanager_path, filemanager_url, rb_base_dir, rb_base_url[/tt].

When I set filemanager_path to "assets" the image selector of tinyMCE and of template vars start in the appropriate folder. But they also do only save the path beginning after "assets". Thus all paths are wrong.

The same happens when I set rb_base_url to "assets".

What do I have to set how? I cant find it myself.

    Many thanks in advance!

I think you’d have to set them all to a similar value.

Try setting rb_base_dir to the absolute location of assets/ and rb_base_url to assets/?

I see a lot of questions about this and always have trouble retrieving the right way to set it, so will probably add this to the RTFM once I figured it out again, lol.

Well this is kind of strange. I now once more set [tt]filemanager_path[/tt] and [tt]filemanager_url[/tt] to "medien/" and left blank [tt]rb_base_dir[/tt] and [tt]rb_base_url[/tt].

And now it works. Maybe in my first attempts I omitted the trailing slash. I don’t know.

When I now insert images with tinyMCE, then the full image path is added.

When I now insert images in TVs, the folder "medien" is not shown in the input field, but it is used correctly when the image is output (in the back end AND in the front end).

I chose "medien" and not "assets" because some snippets and extensions I already installed are storing files under assets, too. And i don’t want my customers to have easyly access those files.

By the way, I today first set the two rb_base fields to "medien/" and left blank the two filemanager values. Then it also worked. But "I like it better" to use the filemanager settings ...

          Exactly, Tom.

In "medien" I have "images", "pdf" and so on.

I’m also working with someone right now trying to figure out how to get this right... tried loads of options, and now suddenly it seems to work with everything I set..

Except static resources don’t seem to get the base dir added.. but that might not be related.

Currently its set to assets/content (the folder we want to limit it to) for *all* four fields: filemanager_path, filemanager_url, rb_base_dir and rb_base_url.

I also tried setting filemanager_path as an absolute url (and updating filemanager_path_relative to "no") which also seemed to work. When I tried to confirm my hypothesis that it needed the absolute url it also started working with all set to relative....
            huh

Updating TinyMCE to the latest version available (check with the Repo what the last version is!) also seem to solve some issues...
