Hi,
I want to upgrade a Evo 1.0.5 website to Revo 2.0.7
I’m aware there is no full process upgrade but I read we can already make the process.
So I have uploaded all new Revo files on my website, and start the upgrade process.
The process stopped because Revo can’t connect itself to the database.
I have checked 8 times and the connections parameters in the config.inc.php are correct (and that’s normal because before Evolution running well)
So I decide to try the advenced upgrade process, but I can’t validate the mysl test connection and see the collation !
Once more time, I’m sure about my parameters (login, pass, database name)
What’s wrong ?

Have you actually read anything about making the switch? You can’t simply upgrade Evo to Revo.
I know this (snippets, chunks syntax, access policies etc...), but I though the database upgrade was good and I whould be able to retreive in the Revo Manager all my documents.
So what you are telling me, it’s that is not ready for now, and I have to make a fresh install of Revo, and copy-past each document from Evo ?

There is a set of applications to do that for you; I forget what it’s called as I don’t do Revo. But no, you can’t just update the database. It’s a totally different system under the hood.

Hey, but what about this from the official docs:
Automated upgrading from 0.9.6.*/Evolution is not yet available in MODx Revolution 2.0.0. A migration tool will be provided sometime after the release of MODx Revolution 2.0.0.
With that in mind, if you'd _still_ like to upgrade, you're free to do so. However, we strongly recommend backing up your data first. Once you've done so, simply run the upgrade mode in the setup/ program, and your database tables will be upgraded.
