Anything in categories do not work

Sounds like a bug, then. Go ahead and report it.

It’s odd since most of my add-on components put everything in categories and no one has reported them breaking in 2.0.8. I’ve been to busy to upgrade, myself.

When you give one group access to it, you’re blocking out the rest. So you would have to check *all* user groups settings to make sure it’s not occuring...

I meant all the groups showing in my manager. There are only 3 - and none of them has any assigned.

@BobRay - note, I’m on 2.0.7, not 2.0.8, and I’m encountering this issue with GoogleSiteMap.

The "my user groups" thing sounded to me like you only checked your own, sorry :p

One last thing to try: Add the admin Super User to all user groups with an authority level (role) of admin Super User. Flush permissions, clear the site cache, and flush all sessions.

If that doesn’t do it, it’s almost certainly a bug.

I am signed in as the only admin which is the super admin and there’s no user groups and it still does not work for me. It’s happened on 4 rev sites for me so far on 2 different platforms. I’ll post a bug now.

I’ve recently had a similar issue, anything inside the categories would not work, scripts, chunks, plugins.
After moving them out and returning a month later I found this option in system settings:

Check Category Access - Use this to enable or disable Category ACL checks (per Context). NOTE: If this options is set to no then ALL Category Access Permissions will be ignored!

I changed that to no and everything worked well again.

I’m not sure what the issue was as I am the only user and not access restrictions were changed.
