Manager's feeds kill the script

I’m having problem with the internet connection. It just won’t connect with non- indonesia server. Sadly, this situation is also affecting my localhost modx’s manager, bcoz it tries to fetch the news feeds.
I had my manager’s page WSOD. Checked the cache/logs/error.log, I found that MagpieRSS throws the HTTP error.
I could make the fix by changing the database and the core/config.cache.php directly
But I just wonder why this problem kills the entire process. it should just pass the problem.

I’m not sure why it’s hanging, but you can turn them off by changing the two system settings. Just go to System -> System Settings and put ’feed’ in the search filter box and they’ll turn up.

Um... that’s kind of hard to do when the Manager won’t load because those URL connections are failing. I’m not familiar with Revo’s database structure, but I’m sure the settings can be manually changed in the database.

Good point. I was assuming that it’s occasionally successful. If not, you’d have to edit the System Settings table and set feed_enabled to 0.

At last, I’m connected! lol.

The problem was the manager couldn’t load.
It’s just hung up, no menu or tree.
It’s not actually a WSOD. The gray background had load up, though.
No way I could set the System.

You can test this, by terminating your internet connection, and start log in into your localhost manager (while all your feed options are set on).
