[SOLVED] suPHP give problems with friendly URLs?

I see (in the FAQ) that Apache mod_rewrite is the ticket to friendly URLs. Does running suPHP as the default handler cause any problems here?

It hasn’t for me. As long as mod_rewrite is enabled, permissions shouldn’t matter for FURLs. If you’re file and directory permissions are set wrong (usually 644 and 755), though, you’ll have other problems.

I had one major issue with suPHP and modx revo.
The uploaded images (with a image tv) had the wrong permission,
so the images weren’t visible. So the customer was not satisfied with this

I didn’t found a solution to this so had to change to another shared hosting account

suPHP should exactly avoid the problem you describe by allowing PHP to run as the same user as the FTP account. *blink*

Perhaps MODx was configured to use the wrong permissions for uploaded files? If 644 is required (as is common in suexec environments) and MODx was configured to try to chmod to something else it could cause a problem.

okay, that’s cool.

i know (all too well) that setting permissons TOO HIGH will cause problems.

i am new to suPHP, and wondered if PHP/MODx being run under a different user than Apache would cause problems in the area where Apache is concerned (namely mod_rewrite).

it’s clear that it’s notta prob.
