my cpanel-based vps is running mysql v5.0.91-community.
my web host guys say the upgrade to v5.1.x is 1-way, can’t go back.
i see no reason not to upgrade.
what are your thoughts here regarding mysql and revo?
i have the latest versions of php and apache.

Correct, the upgrade is one way so if you find a script(s) are incompatible there is no going back. In regards to upgrading, what reason do you have to upgrade? If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. (best in country/ red neck accent)
I’ve yet to upgrade any of my servers, but don’t foresee many if any problems.
i like newer/better .. more features & bug fixes.
any reports of probs with 5.1 with revo?

upgraded my vps to mysql 5.1.51 today, which is the latest version sppt’ed by cpanel, then i installed a new copy of revo 206 trad, no problem.

Awesome, thanks for reporting back that everything works! Did you notice any increase/decrease in memory usage? Also did you have any issues with prior MODx installs?
