I’m looking for a way to create a user-hierarchy like this:
SiteAdmin - user with admin access to the site
AdminEditor - user with same permissions as Editor, but with extra permissions to create additional Editor-users
Editor - standard user able to add/edit resources etc.
My question: What do I need to do to create this AdminEditor user? I can give permission to access the "Manage User" part, but that gives that user the ability to connect the user to any usergroup/role available, can’t find how to restrict this to only "lower-level" users.
Any suggestions?
No one knows how to do this? Seems like a pretty common scenario to me, could easily be done in Evolution...

User Administration features are not that granular at this point in the MODx core (Revo or Evo), but you could certainly create an Extra for handling this kind of sub-administration.

Can’t you use the authority number to restrict that? I would imagine someone with an authority level of 0 (Site Admin) can create users with any authority level. Then your site admin (say: authority level 10) can only make them up to authority level 9.
(Roles would be linked to the authority levels)
If OpenGeek says it’s not possible, that’s probably true, and I haven’t tested this, but that was the impression I had.
(And if it’s not like that, I think it should)

Ah, now I see what you mean.
You can have these EditorAdmins with the system in place now, but they can still manage all users and you can not limit it only to a certain group of users.
