Rolling back to 2.0.4?

Hi all,

How does one go about rolling back to 2.0.4? Is it enough to re-upload the distribution and re-run the installer or has the database changed significantly between 2.0.4 and 2.0.5?

Why do you need rolling back? I don’t know for sure, but in evo there was no such thing as rolling back, only if you had mysql db backup, then you just restore the backup and overwrite current files with 2.0.4

Oh, there are a pile of problems with 2.0.5. Symlinks don’t work properly now, if you have multiple domains pointing to the same docroot, you get problems with absolute URL caching. All in all, pretty poor. ModX Revo takes every bit of my patience to stick with. Never had all this nonsense with Drupal.

Luckily, however, my host restored a file and db backup and we were back in action

Leo, Symlinks behavior did change significantly, as requested by various folks in the community. One might say they do work properly now, as they keep the id of the SymLink and non-empty fields of the SymLink can now override the data from the target being forwarded too. However, if you used them in incompatible ways to these changes, then you may indeed have to make some adjustments. But they should be minimal adjustments.

Also, you shouldn’t be caching any URLs if you are pointing multiple domains to the same docroot, and I assume serving the same content via multiple domains. This is what non-cacheable tags are for in MODx.

Perhaps it would have been nice if the change in symlink behavior had been noted as one of the highlighted changes - it partially broke one of my sites, easily fixed but it would have been nice to know what to check.
