I realize that Revolution isn’t really part of modx, but I thought I’d see if anyone else has had this problem.
If I just start typing, the editor doesn’t place <p> tags around my content. I can change to html view and do whatever I want. Just not in the wysiwyg (design) view of it.

    Using MODx 2.0.4-pl2

I’m running the same install of MODx and have been using Revolution since the first beta release in a production environment and I’ve never had that issue.

I would tend to believe that since the only place you can download it is here, Revolution is part of MODx.

I think dowhatnow meant to say that TinyMCE isn’t really part of MODx wink

            wow... embarrassed
Yeah. Tinymce isn’t really part of MODx you are right.

I haven’t had any luck with tiny+revolution (yet) maybe its a setting I didn’t check.

Odd... If I just click in the text area and start typing - no <p> tag. If I click in the area, press enter, then backspace (to clear the return) I get <p> tags. Is it like that for anyone else?

Same problem here, using TinyMCE 4.1.2. When creating a new document I must do either what you explained dowhatnow, or select the text I typed and choose Paragraph in the Format dropdown.

Im on a mac (firefox) -- not sure if that has anything to do with it. I haven’t tried it on the PC side. I just got used to hitting enter - then delete before I started typing. smiley

For me it inserts paragraph tags as soon as I hit return, as you would to create a new paragraph. Easy enough!

My problem with tinymce is that it interprets html enties which are then not saved as the entity and thus display incorrectly on the web page. So I can have it saved correctly, edit the page with tinymce on and when saved it will mess up stuff (love that precise tech lingo?). So I usually edit with tinymce off but I worry what will happen when my client needs to edit the page and I have to explain that she will need to turn off the pretty editor before editing, or will have to edit and then turn off the wysiwy(almost)g editor and fix the unintended edits. Anybody have a solution? (Sorry to partly hijack this thread!)

It will generate p tags for me, but only if I click in the editor (to focus) hit enter (moves the cursor down) and then delete (to delete the p tag i just created)

If I just click to focus and start typing - no p tag until I hit enter. undecided
