I don’t have ssh access to the hosting service and I have been doing some tests to see if I can still put the core outside the server root.
I uploaded the core into a directory outside the server pages and ran the setup from the web browser. It prompted for the core location then installed the files.
I then edited the config.inc.php files in the server root and the ’manager’ subdirectories so they would find the new core location.
Now I can log in to the Manager but the frame for the right menu is missing and none of the functions in the dropdown menus work.
I can’t see anything in the config files to indicate where the problem lies. Does anyone have any ideas?
