It’s just the usual process as per here:

      http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Upgrading+MODx

and then the version-specific stuff here:

      http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Upgrading+to+Revolution+2.0.5

Be sure to back up your files AND your database, and you’ll be good to go smiley

      Cheers

        Hi TasDeveloper

But after the upgrade, will i lose all my templates, chunks and TV´s?
I did a backup from CPanel to database and files! Is that enough?

Sorry to do all this questions but i never did an upgrade in MODX ... smiley

        Many thanks in advance

No, you won’t loose your templates, chunks and tvs.

As regards backup: I don’t remember how it works from cpanel, actually if you backup files and database you "shoud" be ok.

May I suggest you to try doing these operations also locally on your computer? So you can get some more experience with the process, you verify the backup and then you can do the process online.

I´ll try to do it!!! Thanks a lot for your help!!!

But is the process that simple as they explain in MODX Documentation?

For traditional distribution users, simply upload the files over the existing ones, and then run setup. For the advanced distribution, do the same, but you’ll only need to do so for the core/ and setup/ directories. With the advanced, you’ll need to make sure the manager and connectors directories and files are writable.

            Thanks

to run setup just browse to the setup/ subfolder.

                Ops, another question...
Make sure that you don’t overwrite core/config/config.inc.php, and that it’s writable. Also, don’t overwrite or erase the core/components/ directory.

Is it good idea remove core/config/config.inc.php file and core/components/ directory from the new files before start the uploading ? I´m wondering do this to avoid overwrite them... What do you think?

                Regards
