Can´t get FileLister working

Hi there,

i downloaded and installed FileManager. Then i made the snippet call

and get only a page with my default template but without displaying files.

What path do i need to enter? A relative web path oder an absolute unix path?

After that, i saw in the documentation that there are a few chunks for the templates, so i added and named them feoFile, feoDirectory, feoFileLink and feoPathLink (as seen in the default properties). But still no output.

I chmodded the directory with the files to 777, but still no output.

Can somebody provide me with a step-by-step guide or any hints into the right direction?

Did you try to call it UNcached ?

[[!FileLister? &path=`assets/downloads/`]] <-- put the exclamation mark at the beginning of the call to make it uncached

Not sure it’s sufficient to solve your issue, but it can helps...

Of course i also tried it uncached, but when i do this, i get a blank page without ANY HTML Output.

It seems to be a problem with my MODx installation. I made a fresh install of MODx 2.0.4 on my local server and installed only the FileLister snippet and it works.

So now i guess i have to do a fresh install on my production server and migrate all snippets and chunks and extras to it.
The version on my production server comes from SVN http://svn.modxcms.com/svn/tattoo/tattoo/branches/2.0

Wish i hadn´t to do this.

I guess the svn version is out of date, you should use the git version (https://github.com/modxcms/revolution.git -- ’master’ is the last public release, will be 2.0.5-pl tomorrow (as said in roadmap on http://bugs.modx.com/projects/revo/roadmap, now it’s 2.0.4-pl2), but you can switch branches of course...

I downloaded a new 2.0.4 pl from the modx website and installed it with a fresh database on my production server. Then i installed the FileLister snippet only and included it the same way i did on my local development-server where it runs fine:

assets/files is chmodded 777 and still i get a blank page without ANY code output

Here is my server setup:
Debian 5.0 lenny
Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) DAV/2 SVN/1.5.1 PHP/5.3.2-1 with Suhosin-Patch
MySQL Client 5.1.45
MySQL Server Version: 5.1.37-1~bpo50+1

the site is running as a virtual directory

As it turned out the snippet requires the php5-mcrypt extension that wasn´t installed. After installing it, everything worked. But why didn´t any error show up in the MODx Log or at least on the page? I only found an error in my apache log file.

So i hope this helps someone who got the same problem.
