I work on a new site for a client and I wanted to have
review.
I got a table with all the concert venues (over
1000).
My client can update via modx revo.
What would be the best way to present it in the back office.
using resources or do I create a new component?
Thank you for your help
Using resources to do this would probably be an issue, as the site-tree would rebuild each time you saved an edit or added a new resource - my clients get pissed off after the resource count goes above 100. There are various projects on the forums relating to custom tables, combined with custom manager pages (Bruno17 has an example project on Git that does most of what you want). Others on here (rossco? I think) have shown some quite sophisticated backend management of data for use in modx websites (the one I’m thinking of is a holiday cottage booking system).
Have a look at this:
http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Using+Custom+Database+Tables+in+your+3rd+Party+Components and
http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Custom+Manager+Pages.
Then search for xdbedit on the forum or on git.
Writer > E-consultant > MODx developer || Salesforce || modx 2.x || PHP 5.2.13 || MySQL client 5.0.86
I would put them in a custom-table.
For starting to create your own can try this:

Let xdbedit create the package and schema.
Modify the grid to your needs. Add some filtering-dropdowns and own processors and your done to manage your table from backend.
Thanks for your answer.
i’m gonna check all this.
