Can't install large packages

Hi all.

The no-problem packages:
1. breadcrumbs-1.1-rc2.transport.zip - 22 kb
2. simplesearch-1.1.1-pl.transport.zip - 39 kb
3. spform-3.1.3-beta1.transport.zip - 58 kb

Download them to the packages directory -> new package -> find packages locally -> install package. No problem occures. I can find and downdload package with the default provider - it doesn’t matter - no problems still.

Now I want to install another package. Any of these:
1. tinymce-4.1.2-rc1.transport.zip - 2038 kb
2. frontpage-1.0-beta.transport.zip - 654 kb
Download it to the packages directory -> new package -> find packages locally. The package manager is trying to find and prepare(unzip) package. A new package-named subdirectory appears in the ’packages’ directory. I determine periodical the new subdirectory size while the package manager is processing the task. It is growing till certain value. The package manager is still processing smth. I’m waiting for about half an hour (enough time to unzip anything that size i suppose) - nothing happens.
I can reload the package manager page then. A new package appears ready to be installed. I click ’install’. The first window is license information - no text there, the second window is ’read me’ information - no text there. Choosing params then - no params. ’Install package’ at last: ’The package found. Trying to install.’ That’s it. I can wait then as long as patient i am - nothing happens. No more install log text.

Some of my system information:

• Revolution 2.0.4-pl2
• mysql 5.0.45
• PHP 5.2.4
• Apache 2.0
• Zip enabled. Extension: php_zip v 1.1.2.48 Zip version: 1.8.11 Libzip version: 0.9.0

I also tried to use the built-in zip library - the same problem.

Change the system setting ’archive_with’ to 1. Then try again.

Saying "I also tried to use the built-in zip library - the same problem" I meant that i’ve already done it. But after your reply i tried it again. Didn’t help!!

What is memory_limit set to on your system?

Does the host have any upload file size limit?

This is what I got for the similar problems, from the Apache’s error logs:

I guess the manager’s index.php should set the time limit as zero or more than 60 secs.

This particular experience was on MODx 2.0.4-advance installation.

You might find this is TinyMCE, if you want a large package try installing Janitor, 2681 kb. I’m sure I’ve seen TinyMCE do this before but I can’t swear to it.

Why do you advise me to install your package?? Because it’s yours??
The topic is about large packages. I said that problem is not in TinyMCE (2038 kb), but also in frontpage (654 kb). But you still offer me to install another package, the largest package from these three (2681 kb). Do you really think I can install it?? I can’t. I honestly downloaded it as you advised me and tried to install it. The same problem during unzipping/installing package. The final size of package directory is 5.68 Mb

It sounds frustrating.

Is it possible that your host does not allow you to over-ride upload_max_filesize in php.ini (or ignores php.ini altogether)?

No, because I’ve seen TinyMCE do what you described(no licence etc.), OK, its not that as BobRay says you need to look at your server config.
