Container means that it’s the default settings when you create a child document. On one of them (which is noted in my structure above) I edited it and removed the container checkmark. But it still displays as a "container" in the left hand document structure marked by a folder icon.

I just changed it over to .html ... everything works, everything has .html after it.

I cleared the cache, changed it back to /, and then cleared my cache again. No change, the pages I outlined above are still displaying as .html, instead of /.

That sounds normal to me. If you want the container_suffix to be used for a resource , you have to check the resource’s container checkbox. The home page (site_start) is a special case.

Be sure that every page has an alias and that the alias has no unusual characters in it.

I believe the tree display is based on whether the resource has children. Maybe the folder icon in the tree should have a little checkmark if the folder is designated as a container. You could suggest that as an improvement using the Bugs & Requests link at the top of this page.

Ah. I see. This is confusing, because it’s different behavior from the previous version of ModX. I wish there was a setting where you could make it the same prefix for every page, like in Evo. Having to check the container box on every page is not very elegant, and it’s an extra step to make sure my client does whenever they make a new page.

Just make the container_suffix .html or remove .html extension from the HTML content type. Then they will match. It’s much more flexible in the new version once you understand the change.

I understand how to change the container suffix, but how do I remove the .html extension from the HTML content type? Is that somewhere in the Friendly URLs settings section that I overlooked? I looked through every page of the settings and didn’t see anything else inputted as .html. I see the Content Type setting in the individual resources... which I agree, it is pretty cool. I don’t see a blank one though. Is there somewhere that I can edit this list? *looking*

One more question that didn’t seem obvious to me... can you change what the default one is, i.e. change from HTML to the new one I created?

No, but I think that feature was requested. You can just edit the existing one though...

Ah okay -- good idea on editing the existing one. Thanks! smiley
