Like the topic says I am having issues uploading any mp4 or flv videos to a MODx Revo site I made.

I edited the upload file type and upload max file size entries in the system settings, cleared and flushed the cache and it still won’t let me upload any file.

I get a 553 error via FTP and the manager just gives me an error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

If you have an FTP error it is no MODx related. it is a permission denied message and could be because some reasons: disk space exceded, folder permissions, file name restrictions...

I’m quite sure it’s not a disk space error since I can upload the video file to a directory outside of the MODx install and the folders have 755 permissions.

Can it be something related to the .htaccess file? Running out of ideas.

        Thanks.

Note you have a problem with your server and not with MODx.
Are you on a shared hosting? If so, ask your hosting provider.

Not sure about shared hosting, it’s one of my clients site but I know it has plenty of space left.

I thought it was a MODx issue since I can upload videos to other directories that are not part of the MODx install which is why I find it weird.

            Thanks for your help smiley

If you had the error only uploading from MODx it could be a MODx error, but your problem happens when you upload files using FTP too... so, it is server related.
.htaccess files does not affect FTP
So, ask your client’s hosting provider and they might help smiley
