Whta is the propper aproach ?

Hello,
I want to have customized website crated for my users.

Each user website will consist of:
several product pages (same for all users) - and one page that will be unique for each user.

So for example:
if I will go to www.mydomain.com/user1 (or www.user1.mydomain.com) it will show webiste with user1 name on it and menu that will look like this:

• Product 1
• Product 2
• user1 contact

if I will go to www.mydomain.com/user2 (or www.user2.mydomain.com) it will show webiste with user2 name on it and menu that will look like this:

• Product 1
• Product 2
• user2 - user2 customized website

So product 1 and product 2 are pages common for all users, and I don’t want them to be duplicated or symlinked manualy each time I add a new user.

I would be very grateful for any enlightenment in this ...

You don’t need contexts or something complicated.
You only need to do the custom user page and it can be done using a custom snippet.
The title of the page can be customized too with the value of a chunk/snippet/tv.

That’s working just grate.

I’ve used a custom snipped to grab an user name from his persolanalized website, and than save it to SESSION variable, and crate a placeholder that is displayed on all of the pages !!!

But testing this solution I found out that if somebody will not enter first custom user website, and the user Session variable will not be set, this solution doesnt work. This would surly heapen if people will be sharing links to particular sites, and that other people comming to this website will not have session variable set.

Could any one advice me how to solve this problem?

I think you can retrieve the user full name in any page you want using the api. If it is not possible, instead of a snippet, retrieve the full name in a plugin, onpagerender. You can retrieve the information from the parent. If the information is set onlogin, set this trigger instead.

Yeas, but do You think I could somehow add my user id to url path, so if someone will be sharing a link, and than entering entering website from different url, the user name that shared with him this information will be displayed? ...
