Suddenly we have a .gitignore-file in the root of our revo-installation. Does anybody know where this file could come from and if we can/must delete the file for proper work in future?

Ignore it as it’s name implies; it is harmless grin

It’s part of our source control management system for development and if you choose to manage your deployments of MODx using Git at some point, you may want to start with the ignore rules provided in the file. There are other .gitignore files in other locations as well, some are used to make sure empty directories are created, and others are simply there to make sure things are ignored in certain locations so they never get committed to the product accidentally.

Ok. Thank you very much. The ignore-file will be ignored by us grin
