    I was messing with security permissions, i got 2 user groups: Administrator & Editor, Administrator contained 2 users: admin and editor, and Editor contained only editor. editor said to me that he could not login to manager. editor was member of both groups, so i deleted him from Administrator and also edited Editor group and set permissions like in Administrator, then i clicked Flush Permissions ... and got locked out as well.

    When i enter correct credentials it just shows login screen and when i enter wrong password it shows error.

        I already tried clearing browser cache & cookies, truncating session table, clearing whole cache folder by ftp, disabled cache site-wide even copied all modx_access_ and modx_users_ from working site. It still keeps redirecting me back to login screen (i also tried everything in TROUBLESHOOTING installation section).

          Note: If you’re posting about a bug, please state all of your Environment information in your post: Version of MODx, Traditional or Advanced distribution (for Revo), Server OS, Server Version, PHP Version, MySQL Version (client and server), is pdo_mysql installed, your Browser type and version, if you are using any opcode caching such as eAccelerator, APC, winCache, xCache, etc; any relevant errors in core/cache/logs/error.log, and any other environment data we should know. We can’t help you without that information.

            hope this helps. it was working ok for me until i clicked "Flush Sessions" and got locked out. Why i’m unable to login even after i copied db tables from another project?

              Don’t know what i did exactly but it somehow helped:

              I set to 0 all cache related settings,also turned off compression & concatenation settings via db, deleted /core/cache folder several times (but that didn’t help).

              Also truncated modx_active_users table and then i found /core/config/config.inc.php
              and set
              $modx_cache_disabled= true;
              (there was false)

              and after that i’ve been able to login to manager finally.

                Sounds like your cache directory or files within it are not writable by the PHP process, maybe huh
