Error messages ext-all.js, invalid XML and MODx.perm is undefined

Hello modx community,

at developers -> first of all I’d like to thank you for developing this great content management system.

But I need your help and perhaps somebody can solve the problems?

I’ve installed at my local iis webserver the modx revolution 2.0.4 and after the setup it works without any problems.

At the internet webserver, it’s a provided, small lamp package for a monthly fee, the setup runned without any errors.

After the login the manager shows its default home, but the navigation menu on left side is missing:



No one of the top buttons ("home", "site", "security", etc.) take a respond of my mouse clicks.

On the Firefox error console, there are some errors visible:



What did I do wrong, who knows this problem and how can I solve that issue?

Seems to me that if you uploaded the files to the server via FTP, that some got corrupted in the transfer. Otherwise, please provide the information we request of anyone requesting help here in the forums and maybe we can provide better assistance; it is posted right above the "POST" button so it’s easy to find.

Why did the copy operation fail? I’ve tried "chmod 777 * -R" to the modx directory already, but without any effect.

The traditional distribution comes with the files already "copied" into place. You can ignore those log messages.

Still sounds like an upload failed or some other system requirement has not been satisfied.

I’ve uploaded the extracted files again, with the same result. Afterwards I’ve uploaded the whole archive, then I’ve extracted the archive at the server via ssh directly - nothing of both assisted.

What a strange behaviour, what settings have to change, who has an advice?

Thanks a lot for your reply, yes we’ve meet all the requirements and the trouble shooting guide doesn’t contains the problem.

I’m realy confused that nobody else does have this error.

I too am having this issue. Very frustrate.

Maybe browser extensions causing problems?

I have had the same problem twice after moving site from one computer at work to another computer at home - both with WAMP server and same configuration. I copied all files and replaced database.
No idea what is the problem but solution was to reinstall MODX using setup with option "Upgrade Existing Install".
