    Hello,

I have the following task to perform, and I’m looking if this can be done in modx. So modx have resources, which are basic xhtml pages. This is clear. Let’s say I have portfolio page, and each portfolio item is a record in DB tables, consisting of the following fields
    - title
    - SET of images
    - Description for every image
    - Live URL

so I’d like to create a page in modx backend, that will allow me to create a new "project" inside, portfolio, upload images and describe every image. Define URL of the project so visitors can go live.

I understand I can create pages (one per project) - but this is over kill, and I don’t like it. I want to create a new resource type (?) where I define the data, and then have dynamic urls per project managed by modx. Is that possible in modx? If so where do I need to look at/start?

So let’s say I added 2 new projects under names Client Intranet, Client SharePoint Integration, etc.

I’d like to get pages immediately available through urls

    http://site.com/portfolio/ClientIntranet etc

and I don’t want to manage a static page per project. I want a micro DB with forms inside MODX, that I’ll be able to use to manage my portfolio.

    Thanks much,
    Dmitry

How to do this depends on which version of MODx you use.

      In Evolution, use a "module"

For Revolution, use Custom Manager Pages
