I’m two sites into getting my brain around some of the changes in Revolution from Evolution, and overall I’m really psyched by the improvements. That said, I’m having an issue with aliases that I’m sure is user error, but just cannot track down.

By default the Content Type ’HTML’ appends .html to the alias. Great, works perfectly when viewed. But, when I call [[*alias]] it only returns the value of the ’alias’ resource field, without the suffix .html, as is described here:

    http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Resources#Resources-GeneralResourceFields

Could it be that I’m just missing a system setting that toggles that suffix to output? I’ve cleared the cache, logged out, cleared browser cache, but still not working.

    Thanks!

The suffix is applied to the URL when generated with $modx->makeUrl($modx->resource->get(’id’)) or when called with link tags, e.g. [[~[[*id]]]]. The alias is combined with parent aliases and a suffix based on it’s Content Type and whether it is a container or not. The alias by itself will never contain a suffix.

ok, thanks for the clarification Jason... I misunderstood the description for alias.

        Cheers!
