After upgrading, to 2.0.4 I have issues with modx not finding the assets folder. - Its there and present in fact the front end of the site works fine.
Important Note:
Your assets/ directory was not created at: /usr/local/home/httpd/docs/assets/
You will need to create this directory and make it writable if you want to use Package Management or 3rd Party Components.
Your assets/components/ directory was not created at: /usr/local/home/httpd/docs/assets/components/
You will need to create this directory and make it writable if you want to use Package Management or 3rd Party Components.
If those directories *do* exist, then you haven’t given PHP permission to read or write to them, apparently, if those messages are showing up. You’ll need to do that first.

Check the path in the modx_workspaces table and make sure that’s the same. Also, make sure your core/config/config.inc.php paths are correct.

Thanks
I’ve changed the works spaces path... no change
It would be great if you could clarify this for me
so my previous path was /usr/local/home/httpd/docs/modx/core/
the new path is /usr/local/home/httpd/docs/core/
When I follow the moving site instructions in the wiki I have mixed results...
If I change the "Path" in the config as specified in the wiki to /usr/local/home/httpd/docs/core/ I lose the backend access and some parts of the front end. if I keep the path /usr/local/home/httpd/docs/modx/core/ but change base path and url to /usr/local/home/httpd/docs/core/ point at the root everything works (other than package management). I’ve cleared the cache and flushed permissions etc etc
I can’t get my head around what bit is creating the problem...
